Brian Chang
Brian Chang is third year undergraduate studying mathematics, neurobiology, and piano performance. He has been with NU Tutors for two years, teaching mathematics, biology, Spanish, Chinese, and music. At Northwestern University, he is a teaching assistant for the Math Department, assists in Project EXCITE classes as part of the Center for Talent Development, and has taught courses as part of the annual Splash! program. In the community, Brian tutors at the Boys Hope Girls Hope House and helps conduct science enrichment clubs at local middle schools while volunteering to give piano lessons as part of the Upbeat program. Brian loves to eat seafood and immerse himself in Taiwanese and Spanish culture, but especially loves to inspire academic confidence and innovation in his students. When teaching, Brian emphasizes the importance of drawing diagrams and thinking critically in order to fully understand the question, construct a conceptual plan of attack, and arrive at a solution with minimal difficulty and maximal comprehension.
