Ania Bilski
Ania Bilski is a sophomore majoring in Environmental Science and minoring in Global Health Studies. Currently undertaking a challenging pre-med course load, Ania specializes particularly in the subject areas of chemistry, calculus, and english, having excelled in AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Physics, AP Calculus AB/BC, and AP English Language in high school. She has also studied some of these courses at the collegiate level and plans to complete the rest of them over the next two years. She was the valedictorian of her high school class and during her junior and senior years tutored fellow classmates and under-classmen in chemistry, calculus, earth science and physics. Ania was also involved in the peer tutoring program at her high school, assisting freshmen and sophomores in improving their methods of lab-work, data analysis, studying strategy, and testing strategy. She is bilingual in both Polish and English and her overall aim as a tutor is to be a source of encouragement for the student by creating a tutoring environment that is positive, fun, and most importantly, comfortable. Ania’s tutoring style is one that emphasizes the true understanding of material: she first works through a problem together with the student and once the student feels ready to, she asks that the student attempt a problem on his/her own. In this way, the tutor and student act as a team in learning together. In her spare time, Ania loves to watch movies, shop, hang out with friends, and just enjoy life.
